"You don't want to attack the audience unless, I mean, look, there's an exception to every role," he says. "If you have the audience at your back, it's like having the wind at your back." The best way to help people find common ground is to make a connection with them and show they're not all that different from you in terms of their views on issues such as climate change or immigration.
