If you're thinking about quitting, I would pause that conversation and go sit down and have a very frank conversation with your manager. One approach to that is to make the case to the business that it is the right thing to update this. There's this thing in sports statistics called value over replacement player. It's basically how much better is this thing than like your average professional player? If we just went out and got a random player, would we be likely to have a better player than what we have right now? That same thing can apply to jobs where if you just like win out and get a job.
