Soviet TV and Interviews

The Soviet TV tried pretty hard to stay away from any political topics. And it was sort of overtly boring. There would be never anything even remotely like a difficult question that any of these people would give. Does that sound familiar? I mean, that sounds a lot like today's news, doesn't it?
