The Menshevik Invasion of Georgia
The menshevik government and their armed forces had retreated to batum, a port on the black sea in the extreme southwest of the country. But by now, they found themselves back to their old historical position, stuck between two much larger regional powers. The invasion was clear proof of the value of such communist promises. Inside georgia, this invasion did very little to curry favor with a local population that wasn't inclined towards bolshevism in the first place.
