TMJ Disorders - What Causes TMD?
Temporomandibular Disorders (TMD) include conditions that cause pain or dysfunction with the muscles of mastication. The most common presenting symptoms are headache, bruxism, pain at the TMJ site and otalgia. TMD is often associated with co-morbid psychopathologies such as PTSD,. It can also be seen in patients with chronic pain and fibromyalgia.
