Who Owns the Deep Sea?
Who owns the depth? I have a hard time figuring out how this is going to happen. The whole story of how we got to this point of potentially mining the deep sea bed is wrapped up in this early dreams of doing it. There's big reports now happening in the main media and the New York Times did a huge report on this over the summer, looking into some of the ethics of this. It gets kind of involved and a little bit nerdy, but I think it really does matter because we're talking about such huge areas of the planet with huge potentially huge impacts at the base of it.
