In the united states there's one monopoly in any given place. Anyone can basic set themselves up as an intenete service provider and sell into net over those pipes. It's called local loop unbundling, it has been completely standed in vertually every country in the world for as long as i can remember,. except for in america, where apparently it doesn't exist. Tens of millions of Americanans maybe don't have access to internet service or can't afford it. There is no price transparency that you know really knows what Americans pay for their internet services. I always want to throw canadians in there who are getting a maddeningly poor experience with our broadband
