Is There a Final Humor in the Desert?
I'm writing a book down on the desert fathers, or I actually just wrote a book on the desert. And one of them is that this philosopher from Athens, he goes out into the desert and apprentices himself to a monk because he's heard that the monks are very wise. And every day the monk wakes up insults him and demands payment and then dismisses him for three years. He eventually at the end of the three years,. trudges back home thinking he's wasted his time. The bum bows low and says, the city is yours. Well, we've, we've come nearly to the end of our time. We'll just have to record a seven hour episode next time
