In 1982, Shelley's 28 years old, Nikki seven and Sammy is four. She meets a man named Dave No tech at a bar called the sore thumb in Long Beach, Washington. He asks her for her number but then makes a side note that feels like some type of omen. So Dave immediately proposes they marry on December 28, 1987. But everything seems to be going well until she tells him she has cancer.
