The Properties of Tensors in General Relativity
Many of the objects that we've been talking about and appear in general relativity especially relativity as well are tensors because they're invariant to the coordinate system. In order to ensure that that is true for our mathematical theory that we're constructing we use objects that are called tensors. The metric tensor defines kind of shape and distance in curved space and it's a tensor which means there's certain extra mathematical properties that have to hold true as well.
