Functional Groups in Organic Chemistry
A capsaicin molecule has this base unit that is recognized all over our bodies. That's basically just a hexagon shape if that's easy for you to imagine. And on that hexagon, there's three functional groups attached. Two of them are next door to each other. They're there all the time, no matter what. You have an alcohol group and OH. And then next to it, you have an ether group. If you're an organic chemistry student, you're going to learn how different functional groups react or how to make them.
