The Battle of the Pyramids
The two armies met outside the fortress city of ambabe. The battle itself was basically just a repeat of schuberquit on a larger scale. Muridbe fled with the remnants of his army deep into the upper nile. Meanwhile, ibrahim bay abandoned cairo and fled northeast. Bonaparte then set off in pursuit of brahim bay,. caught up with him and after a quick battle, sent the remaining mamelukes running clear out of egypt and up into syria. And this effectively ended 500 years of mameluke rule in egypt.
