Are Ants Conscious?

Most of us would intuitively believe that ants are not conscious, right? Somewhere in between, intuition suggests that there boundary, right? And that boundary has moved historically, hasn't it? Yes, it's definitely moved. Back in the days of renee descartes, one of the earliest thinkers about consciousness, he was a hundred % convinced that dogs were automatons and all other mammals wereAutomatons  and had absolutely no conscious life. That speaks to a few things. One is just human psychology. We're unfortunately very hypnotized by our beliefs.
