Paul: English weirdness was about students having a miscommunication and then coming to see their teacher Paul for the mystery solving. I wrote each episode like a Sherlock Holmes story, right? In Sherlock Holmes sits in his apartment with Watson sipping scotch and having a cigar and a pipe, and then someone comes in with a mystery. But I didn't really understand that I should turn this really into a full-on detective story. So that came later the the costume and all that, but English weirdness is really solving these nuanced grammar mysteries.
