The Effects of Age on Microbiome Diversity

The vast majority of microbiome research looking at what should be there and what shouldn't be there is done in middle-age adults. In infants under the age of two they would generally have higher amounts of zonulin, higher amounts of count-rotectin. The other concept here in addition to aging is also weight. Those with a greater weight may have a higher potential to produce a particular metabolite called branch chain amino acid leading on to its resistance and type one not type two diabetes.
