All change in society can be summed up and explained by these three effects. Life cycle effects are the process by which you change as you age or go through particular life stages. The cohort effect is about what you grew up through forming your views or behaviours that stick with you. This is a really key tenet of generational researchers. There is a lot of truth in our formative years being important to shaping us for the longer term.
