The Son of Man Comes to See and to Save the Loss
Gospel of Luke was written over millennia before Gutenberg and it was originally designed to be read out loud in one sitting. If you were sitting in a house church in Antioch or Jerusalem or Ephesus in the first century, your ears would perk up at this line because it's a repeat from earlier on Luke's gospel back in chapter 7. Second, note the line in verse 10, the son of man came to seek and to save the loss. And he is now becoming a part of the new community of Jesus that is being formed into people who one day can serve and steward all creation in love.
