Matt Welch: I think that faith is healthier when it is not upheld by big political structures. He says state structures kind of subsidizing religion makes religion lazy and you know, it's bad. Welch: What I was sympathetic with in terms of the Caliphate is his argument that Islam is a political religion which demands certain political structures.
