Drug Cartel Helicopters in the 60s

Central scrutinizers question came in before the whole Chinese spy balloon stuff that recently happened. It's kind of interesting, the confluence and coincidence there. Ryan Naffsiger on Discord writes something I just thought of that can explain most of the phenomenon: cartel drug smugglers. Not sure if there were helicopters with engines that can cause similar effects to afterburners in production in the 1960s. But if there were, it's entirely possible that a Mexican drug cartel could have gotten their hands on one.
