The Olin Foundation's Network-Based Evaluation of Grantees

Olin Foundation president Jim Pearson talked about how he evaluated his grantees. He said it was network-based, not based on quantitative measures like reputational metrics. Pearson: "They didn't do any of the stuff that everybody nowadays thinks is entirely appropriate and in some sense required for doing advocacy evaluation" It's important to be both in those networks but also not captured by them, which is always a delicate balance, says Peter Bergen.
