Adolescents Regulate Their Behavior
There is hightend ventral stride on activation in adults too when they engage in risks and receive rewards. It's just not as high as it is in adolescence. Adolescents actually are very good at regulating their behavior. They have not a broken brain or undeveloped pre frontal cortex, but a regulatory system that can be engaged to meet their motivational goals.
