Are You Comparative or Absolute When You're Valuing a Company?
When you're valuing a company, are you looking at it from an absolute perspective, or comparative perspective, or both? That is a wonderful question, cark, and it's always, for me, a comparative cise. I look at the ratios, i read and understand the company, and then i compare it with probably three other elements. So if i'm looking at home depot, well i'll look at the ratio s of lows or other companies that are competitors. And then i will look at it in light of the industry and also inlight of the overall market.
