Is Self Help Really Denigrated?
I don't think it's like enough, enough attention is paid to it. Self help books are about what you can personally do. If you're not in poverty or your life isn't going so well, if you're a member of some, you know, dispossessed or marginalized community, as an individual, you can't do anything. But for actual people like living, breathing human beings, like knowing statistics isn't going to like do anything for them. And in fact, I think in some ways it can, it can even be debilitating.
