I Don't Know How Cheap Uranium Is

The price for jet fuel at a nearby airport is $6 per gallon. Fueling up a 747 costs $343,000. As I write, the commodity price of Uranium as yellow cake is $49.50 per pound. The 7.5 terajoules needed to power a 747 for the same amount of time would only cost $8.66. And so you could carry an extra 2,000 passengers or something on a 747 if it was fueled with Uranium instead of fuel.
