The Importance of Listening
Hagar was used to bear a son by Abram and Sarai, which in itself is a form of mistreatment. This jealousy rose in Sarai's heart and she and Abram sent her away because of the jealousy that was causing such conflict. But though Hagar felt alone, she was not alone as God listened to her affliction. We are often in this situation, aren't we? So friends, if you are being mistreated, look to the character of your God, not at the mistreatment that is coming your way. Grow our faith in those moments rather than allowing it to shrink away. Lord Jesus, strengthen us, protect us and help us in their moments of need.
