Protected Marine Areas to Help Mitigate Climate Change

One estimate says 175,000 whales were killed at South Georgia over just 60 years. All that's left of the whaling industry here now are rusting buildings and skeletons of ships. Marine protected areas limit activities like fishing and undersea mining. They can't lower the temperature or acidity of the water, but they could take some of the human pressure off key climate specieslike sea grass.
