I Don't Think I Have a Problem, George!
There are some elements of ten that today are a little cringe. George uses an F word a few times to refer to his gay songwriting partner, although the joke is on George because the movie depicts the gay relationship with surprising nuance. Another thing that's problematic is the hairstyle that Bo Derek wears in the part of the movie set in Mexico of beaded, full-on e-brades. Even in 1979, this was criticized as a white girl's thoughtless appropriation from African American culture. On the whole, watching it in 2022, I was struck by how progressive it feels - 100% a movie about toxic masculinity.
