You can turn on hardcore mode, which allows you to not be able to shut it off or change the settings. You can even script it with some command line tools every time the file changes. When I use Photoshop back in the day, there's one called Slicy, and then you just name your layers like buttoned up PNG or hero.jpg. So anytime the PSD changes, it will regenerate all of those assets for you. It's a huge time safe for me when I was doing that kind of work.
