Anthropologist Mary Gray talks about the mostly invisible workforce that keeps many of our apps and services running. These companies hire people to do short, quick tasks, ghost work. And this workforce, Mary says, is growing quickly. There are around 25 million people who have done some form of on-demand gig work online.
