BMW's Decision to Withdraw From Formula One
BMW withdrew from Formula One at the end of 2009. The decision was taken in the summer break after Hungarian Grand Prix. If we had led the championship by mid-season 2009, no one would have pulled the plug. But looking back how the company has changed in the past 10 years or 15 years, certainly the strategic issue was the real reason. It was either we win and we leave or we lose. Due to the strategy shift, it wasn't that important anymore to be in Formula One.
