The Importance of Being Yourself
Westman Row grew up in a household of people being themselves. Did that give you confidence that being yourself could be sufficient? I don't know if I ever felt that way exactly, but I certainly saw that people could have creative careers. My biological father, Larry, he struggled a lot to support his art. So I saw that it could happen. It always amazes me when I see students or kids who grow up in a family of dentists, and they want to be a filmmaker.
