Should We Stop Using the GitHub Pull Request Bridge to Garrett for Go Contributions?
The official source control for the go project is in a tool called Garrett, which is hosted by Google because that's what Google uses. So when you go to the GitHub issue tracker for go, you're not actually looking at the official code repository. They noticed that many of these pull requests from first time contributors just get abandoned presumably because of that sort of barrier to entry. I think that the work should be to extend the bridge more towards GitHub because that's where most open source code is maintained today.
