Coge Aristocrats in Koto

Lady nijo's koga clan ancestors had a pretty elite lineage of their own. They were a branch of the mighty mura kami minamoto clan. The family retained some power for a time after this, chiefly because they were close to one of the joco, or retired emperors. When gosaga died, the koga would endure as a family down to the modern era, but less and less as a politically prominent one on her mother's side.
