The Great Stagnation
Some people have been concerned about technological stagnation in the last 50 years. The history of progress is a big part of that and ought to really inform our world view, says finn MacKinnon. There's at least three major types of progress that i think about: technology, industry and economy but there's also very obviously progress in science and knowledge. And then, somewhat less obviously, but again,very real, is progress in morality and society and government. I think ultimate they are distinct, but inseparable. They are ultimately all intertwined, and they reinforce each other and make each other possible.
