Aristotle's Theories of Environment and Climate

Hippocrates wrote that characteristics of human beings are determined to a large extent by the am torrain where people live. So for instance, if you were living in a cold climate, you would be naturally more bold and rash. And if you were dwelling in a hot climate, you'd be naturally more intelligent but also fearful because of the heat. This idea was used by aristotle when he was talking about natural slavery - certain groups being predestined to dwell with certain forms of governmant. It's an argument that i later in the development of slavery.
