The Role of Exercise in POTS
Non-upright exercise with a focus on aerobic conditioning can improve cardiovascular hemodynamics and reduce symptom burden. Research should aim to drink 3 liters of water and consume 1.5 to 2 teaspoons of salt per day. The recommended target for 24-hour urine sodium is greater than 170 millimoles per day. A gradual increase in physical activity depending on baseline functioning is also advised.
