Don the matchmaker pays the money back and instead of bringing Mei back to her family, which I don't even know if that would have been a good thing at this point. Don tries to sell her again himself but nobody wants to purchase her as a wife. That's when he bumps into another matchmaker who was not a matchmaker for the living. They were a ghost matchmaker and a murderous one. He didn't want to wait any longer, so he leaned over and strangled her to death. Both profited about $4,000 from murder, for murdering Mei.
