Mint: We need to begin by recognizing that for all the important and laudable emphasis on sity in representation, we have not done a very good job with regard to class or educational status. I was struck when i was writing the book to find that of the the percentage of americans with four year degrees is around 35, 36 %. And yet, almost none of them are represented in either house of congress,. Not in the senate, not in the house, except for a very small handful. So we've essentially disfranchised, in terms of representative government, representative institutions, a people without a university degree and people with a working class background.
