The History of Laetok Climbing
Initially the team had almost 350 pounds of gear split between them. Each day two climbers would lead while the other two jumard fixed lines shuttled back breaking loads. And then there was a long section of sort of cornest ridge and it was very very exposed so you're traversing quite a bit. You know I have some pictures I have a picture of Michael Kennedy doing it starting to beat a nice traverse on about 70 degree ice. His photograph shows him his left hand is an alpine that should not alpine hammer. His right hand is a 70 centimeter long ice axe straight shafted. That was the those are the best tools available at the time.
