Introduction
Amos is the third book within the book of the 12. It almost certainly predates its predecessor in the collection, joel. Some geologists have argued that this was the largest earthquake in the last four thousand years. The ministry of amos is set in the context of the days of usiah and jeroboam. Both had lent the raigns, beginning around the seven eighties b c. Depending on the chronology that you follow it could be dated to more than 200 years later.
