The New York Opera House

In the late 19 fifties, leonard bernstein's the musical director of the new york fil onic. The opera house that existed earlier in the nineteenth century was where the established society enjoyed their operas. But they weren't so happy about all the new rich people who wanted to get in and buy up boxes for their families. So these new wealthy families built their own dam opera house, which opened in 18 83 with the production of faust. This was just below the area of to day's time thats wasn't yet.
