How to Forge a Nail During the Pandemic

In the first chapter about nails, there's a story about how you make your own nail. Are there many examples of these things where you actually went and physically did something as research for the book? I wish I could have done more of that, but sadly I basically wrote the book throughout the pandemic. So in the little gaps in between when it was possible, then yes, I was out there.
