Erika Bertini is a professor at NYU in New York City where she teaches and does research in data visualization. Les Padilla is an independent designer of data visualizations who works out of her office in the north of Germany. We talk about why visualization research focuses so much on low-level perception and the role of decision-making indata visualization.
