The Negative Side of Critical Rationalism
I think we benefit a lot from meaning memes precisely, even if even if the adherents are very dogmatic. Being part of that open society allows the more positive things to come out and the negative things get filtered out. And as long as you keep the open societies institutions working, I think that that paparian filter will continue to filter out that negative side of meaning memes. The moment you start to realize my traditions may not in fact be entirely true is when some people just kind of lose interest.
