First Time Calls and Follow Up Calls - What's the Next Step?

I was at a conference and I asked everybody, okay, so this is step one that you have to do. We were talking all fine for him where he was going to speak engagement. It's like everybody thinks we have to do this or you have to doing this. The next step is still the same. A follow up call means I spoke to them. I didn't close them on the last thing. Something had to happen in between. And now I have to have a different objective when I do a follow up call - which I'm going to explain later if we have time. But let's just say we're absolutely absolutely absolutely not changing our sales tactics anymore. Right? So
