The Importance of Dual Antiplatelet Therapy in Endocardial Devices

The easy ones are the epicardial options. So if I do a lariat or an atric lip, we're usually looking at four weeks of antiplatelet therapy and then they can do really whatever we need to do after that. As far as endocardial devices, the reason this is all over the map is the Watchman 2.5 was studied in the clinical trial,. placed the device, anticoagulate with a warfarin, six weeks, plus aspirin. Then switched to dual antiplatelet Therapy until six months after implant, then go into aspirin 325. That ultimately was carried through those first four studies that got FDA approval.
