The Myth of Attribution
The attribution myth is that an individual was the man of their times. We tend to sharpen that focus so that we're only sharpening it on that person, sort of like putting the spotlight on them. A leader who does something in one place and has moved to another place and tries to repeat it almost never succeeds. The last myth is the idea that we are clear-eyed calculating people. And so we follow or select or elect the leader who will most give us what we want.
