In some translations, his words in verse 18 begin with, all power has been given to me in heaven and on earth. But here, even though we have a certain element of authority, we have his authority because we have him,. Yes, but we need remember it's his authority. It isn't our authority, but it's this authority that's in us now through the holy spirit.
