Is Dowsing a Way to Find Water?

There's no evidence that dowsing can actually find water. But Richard Wiseman at the University of Hertfordshire says it could be serving as a way to access some sort of subconscious knowledge using that same idiomator effect. Maybe you're picking up on subconscious cues like if you're very experienced in finding leaks, maybe you notice certain types of vegetation growing in one area or the health of that vegetation. The rods are only sort of revealing your subconscious knowledge. All we really know is that in laboratory conditions, there's no Evidence that Dowsing Can Find Water.
