Emil: I think that most of the time, the argument is sort of like, you can only kind of win or break even by opting into this. Either you'll never wake up again, and so you might as well try it, or something interesting will happen, and so why not extend your lifespan? But I think actually when I meditate on the question of why I haven't signed up, the risk is more that I wake up in some dystopic future where I'm enslaved, like matrix style,. Or I'm like co-opted to kind of manufacture kind of dystopian futures that I don't want to participate in.
